Luxury Vinyl Flooring Installations

Choosing the best installation method for your new vinyl flooring is the best way to determine the success and overall quality of your floors over time. Although all luxury vinyl installations are considered quick and easy to perform, the type of product and application you require are crucial aspects to consider. Our resilient vinyl floors are available in 3 product types: gluedown, looselay and easy click. You should carefully weigh the advantages of each when making the best decision for your installation.

LUXURY VINYL

Gluedown Installations

Gluedown installations are a permanent flooring option where vinyl planks are adhered directly to the subfloor. This method offers enhanced strength against impact and abrasions, resilience to scratches and a tougher barrier against moisture. Gluedown installations tend to be a more effective method when working in large areas, especially in high-traffic applications with the ability to hold up extremely well over time.

Looselay Installations

Looselay is a popular installation method known for its quick and easy application that doesn’t require a full perimeter bond to adhere to subfloors. Instead, a combination of friction and perimeter glue allows the planks to lie firmly in place. Looselay installations are known to be one of the most DIY-friendly methods for vinyl flooring with minimal prep and clean-up required. Looselay installations are also easy to remove and re-install in another location if desired.

RIGID CORE SPC

Easy Lock Installations

By far the easiest and most popular option for installing vinyl floors is the click-n-lock method. Our rigid core SPC flooring is designed to snap together quickly and easily using patented Uniclic Technology—the best locking system on the market. This strong locking mechanism helps to effectively seal spaces and gaps between planks, ensuring secure placement that is highly stable and watertight.

Engineered Wood Flooring Installations

Engineered wood flooring requires a bit more work when it comes to the floor prep and install process but offers a variety of installation methods—depending on your preference. Our engineered wood products have been precision-milled with tongue and groove construction, meaning they fit snugly together (much like puzzle pieces). This interlocking construction allows installers to choose from glue, staple or nail down methods.

ENGINEERED WOOD

Nail, Staple & Glue Installations

Similar to vinyl installations, using a gluedown method for your engineered wood floors is going to ensure a more permanent application that is better equipped to handle heavy use in more high-traffic spaces. Nail-down methods are known to provide a more heavy-duty application but must be used with a plywood subfloor for a secure attachment. Staple-down installations are very similar to the nail-down method with some slight differences and also a require a plywood subfloor.
